Our focus in this workshop is on raising Muslim children with a strong connection with and love for Allah
and our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
In addition, we will talk about the importance of nurturing our children's creativity to support
them in becoming active members of our society.

This workshop includes four hours of recordings and powerpoint presentations.
The eBook How to include more Spirituality in your Everyday Life, the first chapter of
the upcoming book An Alternative Curriculum for Busy Parents, and the article Re-Thinking the Age of Adolescence - An Islamic Perspective serve as supplements to the topics discussed in this workshop.

Claudia Azizah Seise

Claudia Azizah Seise, born in 1983, obtained her PhD in Southeast Asian Studies from Humboldt University Berlin, Germany. During her PhD, she conducted extensive qualitative research in Indonesia. Her dissertation is entitled Religioscapes in Muslim Indonesia: Personalities, Institutions and Practices.

She was an academic fellow at the Humboldt University Berlin, Germany in 2017. She worked as an assistant professor at the International Islamic University Malaysia from April 2018 until August 2019. From January 2019 until July 2019, Claudia was advisor to the International Da’wah Institute (Institut Dakwah Antarabangsa) under the Muslim Welfare Organisation Malaysia (Pertubuhan Kebajikan Islam Malaysia).

Besides her academic writing, she has contributed to the German Islamic newspaper since 2008. She published a collection of essays about Islam in Southeast Asia in German in 2019 and a small collection of short stories in Indonesian in 2010. She is co-founder of the Ulu-Ilir-Institute and offers on-site and online courses about Islamic spirituality, culture and Islamic studies.

Claudia embraced Islam in 2008 after a long search for her spiritual home. She is a students of Islamic spirituality. And besides her busy schedule, she tries to study about Islam from different aspects and teachers.

She is married and has two children. She currently lives in Palembang, Indonesia.
